When to Plant What
One of the greatest tips I ever found was in Me's book (the ALL NEW SFG BOOK) cannot remember where, but it's in there, was for checking the weather. I have been at weather.com quite a bit lately and they are adding new things all the time.
For more "gardening specific" weather on the right of the screen is an Outdoors tab, hover over it, click on Lawn and Garden, type in your zip, and make sure the local forecast circle is highlighted.
For just weather, type in your city and state or zip and that will pop up. I have noticed our area has a high pollen count lately, that affects our planting, as I have to limit my time outisde during then. On the right of the page is Today's Averages & Records, below that box is Historical Data. If you are wanting to see averages for a month click on that, you can change months too, it also gives you record highs and lows. For those of us who like to check last frost/freeze average, this is great.
All of this will help you to decide what can go outside.

Re: When to Plant What
Another great site, without all the gadgets, but with more depth straight from forecasters, imo, is Wunderground.com. You can often find a weather station very close to you...closer than a muni airport.
Nothing against weather.com. Just providing another weather site because weather dictates everything we do, obviously.

I have found the Weather Underground site has some great info that applies to my gardening, including GGDs and other interesting information.
