$1 veggie book at Books A Million

I found this at Books A Million for a dollar. It doesn't have any sfg-specific info, but basic culture for a good variety of veggies. I think it would be particularly good for a beginning gardener.

LOL sorry it's sideways but it's almost 1 AM & I'm going to bed.

how does it compare/contrast to mel's publications?

It is just a basic gardening info, not all SFG-specific, but on some of the photos you can see the string grid, plus several pictures of raised beds.

It gives a planting/cultivation guide for quite a few veggies: guide includes: planting depth of seeds, plant spacing, days to harvest, planting outdoors, care, pests & harvest. Like I said, it is just a basic book, waterproof, & I couldn't pass it up for just a buck. I wasn't recommending it in place of any of Mel's books, hope I didn't convey that in my original message. I just thought it was a nice, cheap little book to pass along.

i didn't get that impression - i was just curious how that book compared to sfg books.

always fun to read add'l materials. i know i enjoy borrowing all sorts of stuff from the library. i actually rarely buy the materials unless i REALLY like the information and request it over and over - which is how i came to purchase my books on SFG. Smile

gardening is definitely an addictive hobby - and 'failures' one season can mean success the next. . this past summer was sure proof of that. what a strange summer!
