Can anyone identify this plant?
I transplanted this to my garden from a rental property we just bought last summer, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is? I put it in my flower bed because I thought it was pretty...but the leaves have a savoury smell like an herb? It flowered tiny little yellow flowers recently. I don't have a clue what it is. It might be something common, but it's not familiar to me at all. Any ideas?

Re: Can anyone identify this plant?
I haven't seen dentate (tooth-edged) leaves on sage before....plus the leaves look a little narrow? Also, my sage flowers pink/purple. But maybe it's a variety I haven't seen before. I would be very cautious in tasting it before you get a positive ID.

Ryley~
I sent the picture of this plant to my Local Extension Office asking the Master Gardeners to help us make a positive ID.
Should here back from them in a few days, hopefully
Will let you know what I find out!
Maybe someone else will chime in with the answer before I hear back from my Ext Office.

Good eye Megan. I noticed the smooth leaves only - or at least they appeared smooth to me. There are sages with similar yellow flowers, but the leaf thing is interesting. Now I have to officially say, I don't know. LOL
Re: Can anyone identify this plant?
The leaves got me too. Some are jagged, some are smooth. I thought perhaps it might be a sage as well, but it doesn't smell quite like sage (but what it DOES smell like...I don't know...some help I am).
I definitely won't be harvesting this plant without finding out what it is first. I'm happy with it adding something different to my flower bed.
Jenny, thanks very much for looking further into it for me. I really appreciate the help! I look forward to figuring out what it could be.
Thanks SFGers...you're all very helpful!! What a great community

Re: Can anyone identify this plant?
I've been googling a bit, and think perhaps, it might be a "Silver King" Artemisia.
The pictures seem pretty similar.... :suspect:

Re: Can anyone identify this plant?
Artemesia (wormwood) was my first guess, too, but I don't know that plant very well.

Here's the response I received back:
This looks like a type of Euphorbia (spruge).
Hope this helps-
Jenny

Re: Can anyone identify this plant?
I looked at pictures of euphorbia and I don't think it looks like it at all. Anyone else?

Chopper~
I did the same thing... looked at tons of pictures and couldn't find anything similar to the picture. Surprising to me; our Horticultural Educator is pretty smart!
Well, lets see if anyone else has a thought about it.
