Anyone else blogging?
This is my first year square foot gardening, and just like everything else I do, I'm blogging it. I'd love to add your blog to my Google Reader if you have one too! (click on "I'm blogging it" for the link)
Re: Anyone else blogging?
Yes ...and good job
Betty Ann (happyfrog) has a VERY good garden blog. She is growning children (and a little food too)

Re: Anyone else blogging?
Not bad Jerzy. It will get more sophisticated as you go. There is a season for blogging. We are near the end of that season. Once you are full on into gardening, there isn’t as much time for writing. At least that is how it works for me, I get too busy to write. But there is time around Christmas through valentines to tweak your settings and style. Take notes and pictures. You may be glad you did when you finally sit down to write.
Maybe because I work with homeschoolers on the internet and am forever working with others on their writing projects that I feel like I'm outta gas for my own. Does that happen to the rest of you? Do you feel like you have seasons for writing or are you able to feel creative year around?
Deborah . . . .just wondering.

Re: Anyone else blogging?
I'm new to gardening, but not to blogging. It works best for me to establish a schedule and try to stick to it as a minimum, so for instance, at least one picture of the garden on Sundays, but if I feel like writing more than that, great.
I also allow myself to have a picture-heavy post if I don't have as much time to be reflective. It is the best way to document it though, and the easiest to go back to (for me).
I'm following all the blogs mentioned, maybe we can learn from each other!

Hey hi! I've been clicking on "follow" for all the blogs posted here. They have become an encouragement to me. AND when the weather is icky out west (out NORTHwest) I can read blogs and dream.
Every year I intend to keep a good garden journal but end up writing on whatever scrap of paper I find. Up till now making notes in the margins of my favorite books has worked but not for yield or daily stuff. Blogging has been good for me. I just look at entry dates to find out whatever....and I can check last year’s posts to see what happened then. Really, I mean see, pics are better for me then my drawings and pressed herbs and flowers, as romantic as it is to keep that stuff. At least until I change computers again or until the internet crashes this works. But, if there is some kind of electronic crash (and there always is) I have not really lost anything except $$$$
Deborah ....thinking that whoever started this thread was brilliant.

I've started one as well: http://goodgameme.wordpress.com/
I really like reading other peoples blogs as well. Keeps me motivated and gives me good ideas for my own garden.

If you have a blogger account then you need to log into your account (even if you do not blog you can have an account --it is free) THEN go to their blog and click on follow. You will be added and when they put up a new passage, your "blog Dashboard" will show you a preview of what they have written.
The other choice is to subscribe to the RSS feed. I am not sure if all computer programs have this feature or not. I only started using it after I got Vista OR Explorer 8. This one is easier but harder to explain. When you click on their blog an icon on the upper menu bar turns orange if you can subscribe to that page. On THIS page (SFG) it is gray (The icon is in the upper menu bar, next to a house (home page icon). On the lower left corner of the icon is a dot with two curved lines, like radio waves coming out from the dot) If the icon is orange instead of gray, you can click the icon and a window opens with a view of the RSS feed which is any words and pictures without all the background design that the author posted. At the top of the new window is the choice to subscribe to the RSS feed in blue print. You do not need a blogger account to subscribe to RSS. Click on the subscribe line and you are subscribed.
When you go to “favorites” there should be a tab called "Feeds" When you click on that, a menu showing your feeds opens. Anytime one of your bloggers publishes a new post their blog title will be in bold print. Click to read.
From the RSS you can click on the title of the blog and go to the original page.
Deborah ....hope that makes sense !?!

Re: Anyone else blogging?
I'll have to try that. I've figured out how to use the follow button on a few of the blogger sites like yours, but its the rss ones that i think are messing me up, i didnt know how to follow them. I'll try that rss thingy when im on my home comp.

Re: Anyone else blogging?
I created a Google Reader account (if you already have Gmail, blogger, or use Google docs you can use that account) so I could organize them by folder, etc. It makes seeing what has updated and deciding whether to read or mark as read really easy!
Re: Anyone else blogging?
Hi,
I also try to keep a blog about my attempts to garden. It's in dutch, because I'm blogging mainly to keep track of what I do when, and how it turns out, but you can check it out and have it translated by google ofcourse. I'm in a hurry now but I'm gonna read all your blogs later this weekends, I think it's so much fun (and inspirational too) to see other peoples efforts!
oh, almost forgot my url: mirjamroos.blogspot.com

Blog
I am blogging about my square food gardening efforts, but it also has all our family happenings as well. So, if you just want to read about the gardening part, you may have to scroll through quite a bit. I hope to get some new updated pictures up soon This is our first year of gardening in Texas, should be an adventure.
I can't wait to look all all the other blogs out there.

Re: Anyone else blogging?
@Lavender Debs: You could translate my blog with google, if you really want to read it But I'll post some more photo's soon, the minute something is actually visible. I put in most of my seeds during the last two weeks, so not much to see yet!
Re: Anyone else blogging?
I love the blogging idea for SFG. I love the fact that sh1mm3r used "L brackets" to create the boxes, that would make it more sturdy. I just started my blog this morning. It's a rough cut but this is really my first "real blog" that I will continually post in. I have another blog which has benn a total failure.
Ok, if you want to see my starting point for the blog, here it is.

Blogging
I'm impressed with everyone's blogs. Mine? I have one for my jewelry, but the last post was November 2008! What a joke! But I am starting my first SFG & am documenting it, so I think I'll start a blog for that. It'll be so much easier than jewelry to photograph - no lights, setups, & all that stuff. I'll have to start looking for a garden-themed background. I'll post it when I have something.
