Re: Anyone else blogging?
I love the idea of converting the barn to your SFG and using all the reclaimed wood to create your boxes. Sounds like a great project. ... I'm now a follower of your blog and hope to soon get around to adding everyone else's. Lots of sites still to visit. ... Good luck with your efforts.ayanefan wrote:I love the blogging idea for SFG. I love the fact that sh1mm3r used "L brackets" to create the boxes, that would make it more sturdy. I just started my blog this morning. It's a rough cut but this is really my first "real blog" that I will continually post in. I have another blog which has benn a total failure.
Ok, if you want to see my starting point for the blog, here it is.

I need a name for my blog
I thought I posted this, but evidently not.
OK, I found a template, now I need a name.
I like heirloom veggies, roses, raise chickens & Boxers, live in Birchwood, TN out in the boonies.
I need suggestions for a catchy name.

Starting a new blog
Chocksaw...just go to blogspot.com and follow the instructions. Its easy. I'm not computer savvy but I was able to start a blog.
For those with blogs, why not post them in your 'signature' so they show up automatically at the bottom of all your posts. Then if anyone wants, they can look you up in a hurry.
I just set up a new album in my Favorites titled SFG Bloggers.
I add your online name to the beginning of each title so I know who I'm visiting.
Example: SFGTjerzyjen which I add to the left and leave the rest alone on the right.
I've added all your blogs as I find them so I can just check them out when I find myself with an hour free at the computer. You can be sure I'll make time, because I love reading about SFG.
I have a blog I made last year which shows my efforts as a newby.
http://quiltladysgardens.blogspot.com
The one above I will probably delete in the next month or so.
I've recently started a new blog so that my name is more familiar to those that know I garden. I use the name 'quiltbea' on several sites so you will always know who you are 'talking' with more easily.
My new site is: http://quiltbeagardens.blogspot.com
I'm already taking pictures and trying experiments this year. I live in southwestern Maine zone 5a so its not really time to plant just yet.
I think it will be great to check into each others sites to see what's happening. Its another way to learn about SFG.
Good luck with the new season everyone!

Blogging my garden
Started blogging my garden when the first shovelful was turned in the fall of 2008. I followed Mel's Square Foot Gardening book exactly at first then took off to make the boxes work around my existing trees. You can see it all at http://dssgarden.blogspot.com
Re: Anyone else blogging?
I keep adding the new ones to my 'Favorites' listings and enjoy stopping by to see what you're doing.
Its nice to have a group especially devoted to SFG.

Thank you for responding.
I now have all of you in my 'favorites' in my SFG Blogs folder. It makes it so much easier to find you and check in every few days to see how you're doing in different parts of the country and to see if there are any tips we can share.
Thank you again for answering this post.

Blogging
I've had so much fun adding new blogs to my list! I love reading others' blogs, so I hope you like mine, too! The one strictly on gardening (albeit not just SFG) is www.plantingseedsgrowinglife.blogspot.com and I crisscross it with my other blog about everything from sewing tutorials to to canning recipes to stuff my crazy kids have done. That one is www.atinklife.blogspot.com
Thanks!
Thanks!
