Re: Hello from East Texas
DeadwoodKaren from Texas. I'm glad we could get your registration problem figured out; I see now where you got your user name from-I was wondering!
There's a lot of local info that you can find here.
You folks seem to be on a planting schedule unto yourselves, so I'm sure there will be some timely info in that forum to help you get started.
Happy gardening

Howdy Karen:
Welcome to the friendly Square Foot Garden Forum. We have a wonderful and knowledgeable group of folks here who love to talk about the easiest ways to garden ever invented. While we are thousands strong no one here is an expert. Even the author of the "ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening" book does not consider himself to be a gardening expert. Having said that, if you have questions about SFGing please ask them and the folks here will do their best to get you the answer.
Again WELCOME and God Bless, Ward and Mary.

Re: Hello from East Texas
Welcome deadwood Karen, Yes texas is in multiple zones and planting schedules of our own , and many dont realize that east texas covers from texarkana to orange texas with temp ranges of 30-40 degrees difference in winter anyway. That about a 5-6 hour drive
We do however have the luxury of planting very early in march and harvesting and replanting thru november, down side is that the cool weather crops ie: lettuce cabbage brocolli etc dont do well ,, for me anyway!!!!
Welcome and enjoy!!!!!!!
