It's chapter 11, so the company isn't being dissolved. Yet. But it probably won't be publicly traded, and will have new owners. Usually when that happens we eventually see some internal changes and possibly some store closures.

Joann's fabric bankruptcy Empty Joann closed the store in my town.

Post  neefer 3/23/2024, 12:33 am

It ticks me off.  When I moved here, we had 2 fabric stores and a quilt store. Joann's bought out the rival. There was a tiny independent for a while. Then Joann's moved from it's hole in the wall location to across the street from a really excellent, independent craft store, which couldn't make it with Joann's across the road. And now, Joann's is gone, and I have to get on the freeway and navigate traffic to get to a Joann's to buy thread. The quilt store is still here, but they just don't meet my needs. And if it's not Joann's, I have to drive 40 miles to get to a decent fabric store.   Sad
