Can I Use This Compost As One Of My Five Different Ones?
Hi all,
I may have a good source for this compost.
Can I use this as one of the five compost blends?
I am a newbie, Compost is the only thing I need to get. Have the vermiculite and peat
Thanks
EQ Compost can be blended with topsoil and potting soil for establishing plants or used as a mulch around already established plants. EQ Compost supplies organic matter and improves the structure and porosity of soils which allows plants to more effectively utilize nutrients. Biosolids have been used to improve soil quality at popular destinations like Maggie Daley Park and the 606 Trail and on golf courses and athletic fields at both public parks and schools in the Chicago area for more than 20 years.

EQ Compost
The MWRD’s Exceptional Quality (EQ) Compost is a sustainable and environmentally beneficial product derived from the water reclamation process. The MWRD partners with the City of Chicago and other organizations by collecting woodchips from routine tree trimming programs and blending this with MWRD biosolids in open windrow machines. Woodchips, grass clippings and leaves are used as a bulking agent. The process raises the temperature of the biosolids and bulking agent mixture which destroys pathogens.EQ Compost can be blended with topsoil and potting soil for establishing plants or used as a mulch around already established plants. NO!

BIOSOLIDS is another name for sewage sludge, which has been removed from the city's sewage treatment plant. This should never be used on food production soil. The pathogens have probably been killed in the composting process, but the heavy metals will remain for a very long time.
As stated by the city, they only use it one lawns and around trees. It should not be used for growing any vegetables.

This is a quote from an old thread on biosolids"
https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t8485-class-a-biosolids-compost?highlight=biosolids
Class A Biosolids is a classification set by the EPA for a very unregulated toxic stew of lightly treated sewage sludge. They regulate about 10 heavy metals plus fecal coliform and salmonella and THAT'S IT. Anything else that goes down the drain is unregulated and can (and is!) be found in this: dioxins, perfluorinated compounds, flame retardants, pharmaceuticals, hormones, pesticides, etc, etc. Is that what you want to put in your garden?
