February Avatar: Time to Wake Up!
Last year, countrynaturals started a thread called "February 2017 Avatar: Time to Wake Up!"
That is a great theme. Sanderson and I discussed continuing that same theme for February of this year and possibly future years. So the new thread does not have a year in the title.
Show us what is waking up in your garden. Even though my SFG and 99.9% of the rest of my garden is sleeping under the snow, I did find signs of life in the form of some green ground cover near the foundation of the house on the south side (photo later).

It would be much easier if I posted everything that died!

Re: February Avatar: Time to Wake Up!
LOL! I read the title and thought it was a great idea. I didn't know it was mine from last year. I'm off with my little camera to see what's waking up out there.
Re: February Avatar: Time to Wake Up!
This was a real challenge. My garden never went to bed. Here is a flower from the Bee Garden with a bee already on it. I guess they both woke up early this year. I guess it's "fer reals" too. Our 10-day forecast is nothing but 70s for highs and high 40s to mid 50s for lows. I'm already starting to dread summer. Our temps are 20-25 degrees above normal.
Re: February Avatar: Time to Wake Up!
Not sure I'll find anything growing this month...maybe toward the end. So for now I'll use a "signs of life" theme and change it later if anything pops up:
This was taken out my bathroom window.

Here is a couple pics of my strawberries.
The 2nd photo is my avatar for Feb. The leaves have been eaten by the deer. My sfg is surrounded by a 4 ft. fence,

Re: February Avatar: Time to Wake Up!
Although my daffies typically begin to show in January, I haven't seen anything sprouting yet.
Today, it's snowing fairly hard, and the forecast predicts ongoing snow nearly every day for the next 10 days. The total COULD be significant.
