They also come in 4' x 8'.  If only they weren't so expensive, not to mention the shipping!

But you do get four beds that are 3 ft x 6 ft x 15 inches that will last a lifetime.  That is about $120 per bed if I am reading the ad correctly.  Of course they don't mention shipping costs.  Unfortunately, I need to raise mine off the ground to get rid of the roots growing into mine so this would not work for me.

or you could get 8 beds 7.5" hi.  That would only be $60 ea. But moving the delivered box to the yard at 2600 lbs is ...well...I have no way to do that.
What the heck is fly ash??? Shocked

CC,

I already discussed that issue with the vendor.

They can have the truck leave the package as close as possible (in my case, that would be my smallish RV parking area).  Then, I could transport the blocks one or two pieces at a time in a wheel barrow to my planting location for assembly.

I'm still waiting to hear about shipping costs.

I do know many local contractors, though, and one of them just might travel to Grass Valley, CA occasionally.  That might be cheaper.

They want $397 and change.  Sanderson, do you plan a trip to Central Oregon anytime soon?  Do you have a heavy truck?  I'm willing to pay around $200.00 for the favor!

Donna, No trip to Oregon foreseen. We did discuss that much weight in the new truck and it would be an experience driving that far with that heavy of a load. Ken said the $397 didn't sound unreasonable, considering everything.

Jerry,

That's a great idea, of course, but I strongly suspect that the design has been patented.

I'm still having an ongoing debate with myself about the magnitude of such a purchase.

Zack, What's to stop you from building a frame and pouring your own concrete in a straight line. No need to make it identical.

This gets me thinking about when I used to do synthetic stucco using styrofoam, fiber mesh and portland cement. I wonder if portland cement would be safe to use in a veggie garden? Hmmmm
