Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
Somebody gave me these as a bonus with purchase, but I didn't know what they were and never got around to planting them. Anybody grow these? Any suggestions? ![thinking](/users/2912/12/27/03/smiles/601593.gif)

Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
Intriguing. I Googled and apparently the blue and stripes are photo shopped. But it would be interesting to follow the online directions and see what happens.
Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
They say they're easy to grow but I didn't think real roses could be grown from seed by amateurs. Maybe I'll start them after Christmas and see what happens. ![geek](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_geek.png)

Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
Oh dear.
I was so excited & intrigued by the color I never even considered it might not be real. Sorry. If it sounds (looks) too good to be true...etc. etc.etc.

Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
Not being a rose expert, I think most roses are grafted onto hearty stock.

In doing some digging on Google, you're correct. Rose seeds need to be in the fridge for a couple of months, etc.
But at least it didn't cost you anything extra.
My advice would be to put it in a pot and see what actually comes up...

Ooo, thanks, Marie. I'll stick them in the fridge right now.AtlantaMarie wrote:countrynaturals wrote:They say they're easy to grow but I didn't think real roses could be grown from seed by amateurs. Maybe I'll start them after Christmas and see what happens.

Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
Or, stick them in an outdoor pot in the shade. Our winter temps may work.
Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
Good idea! I have enough to do both.sanderson wrote:Or, stick them in an outdoor pot in the shade. Our winter temps may work.

Re: Blue Dragon Rose Seeds?
One article mentioned that the true color is lavender or purple. There are no blue blue roses.
