Oregano
I cut off quite a bit of oregano this afternoon. Some of it has blossoms. I am going to hydrate so want to know what to do with the blossoms. I haven't ever let it get this far before but this year has been so wet that is has gone crazy.
What should I do - cut them off or leave them?

Re: Oregano
I'd cut them off.
Also, keep in mind that once herbs start blooming, they will often get rather bitter. You might want to try a leaf or two...

Re: Oregano
I am going to finish dehydrating and then just take off the leaves. I never keep the stems because, yes, they are bitter. I had already started the dehydrating before I saw your reply. ThanksAtlantaMarie wrote:I'd cut them off.

Thanks for the reminder, Marie. I am babysitting a friend's pot plants while she is away and I noticed some blooms on the basil. I had better get that seen to tomorrow.

Re: Oregano
Picky. Nope not potted plants, those must be indoors down in the basement with automated watering systems etc.BeetlesPerSqFt wrote:sanderson wrote:Hopefully you meant potted plants!Kelejan wrote:Thanks for the reminder, Marie. I am babysitting a friend's pot plants while she is away . . .
