Pea Sprouts
I got my first snap pea sprout today! I am going away this weekend so I can't wait to come home Sunday and see the new sprout army coming up! I feel like this is the official start of gardening season for me even though I have had seedlings inside for over a month.
I put up the 7' trellis for the peas yesterday. 7' x 9'. A little saggy in the middle but it held last year. I have an 6' x 11' trellis for the cukes. Hope that holds
Can't wait for the first snap pea. Pure heaven

Re: Pea Sprouts
Yes, I enjoy gardening more now that I do some early things, like my snow peas. It's fun to see them come up so early. I also planted garlic last fall and those are already 6 inches above the ground. My peas haven't sprouted yet, although I didn't check yesterday so maybe some will be there today.

Re: Pea Sprouts
Mine are popping up, too!
I can't really remember but I think it's wicked early this year. I'm going to peruse last years New England thread and see. Or maybe I'll peruse the year before coz last year was late due to a horrible winter.

Pea sprouts
When people say 'wicked' as an adjective, it reminds me of my extended family in Massachusetts!

Re: Pea Sprouts
I started sugar peas indoors early this year and planted in the garden several weeks ago in the community garden...haven't checked on them since rains, freeze, hail, snow, etc...hopefully they're ok.
I also direct seeded sugar peas at home in the SFG...good germination however the cold seems to have slowed them down a bit...still waiting to for first leaves to unfurl.
