Farmers Market
Well its that time of year again! The farmers markets in Texas are in full swing with a variety of items for sale. The onions and some lettuce have begun to be displayed and sold.
We are loading up to go and peddle our wares this morning as well. We still have preserves and some okra pickles from last year. My LW has been canning strawberry jams from fresh garden strawberries and she cleaned out the freezer making blackberry and blueberry jams as well.
I may also take the first born Guinea Keets to sell as well.
For any of you that end up with excess veggies this year check your area for a farmers market, most of them dont charge for booths and its a great way to pay for the Mels Mix you bought this year. You will also get to interact with a variety of different gardeners from your area.
We also sell our excess seedlings in 4" sqaures of Mels Mix for some reason I always germinate way to many seeds!
Now the question is it worth your time ? Last year we averaged $100 a weekend thats just Saturday from 8am to Noon. This year by utilizing SFG I hope to double that.

Re: Farmers Market
How many SFGardens or boxes do you have? I am thinking I may see some excess also and was thinking about that. Being in CA my guess is the farmer's markets charge, but I don't know. There is always setting up the grandkids at the curb and splitting the take. :>
