A few pictures
First time growing this variety. San Marzano is just a foot tall but some of the leaves are going crazy---
This poor little blueberry bush lost its neighbor bushes on either side during this past winter. It threw some berries anyway. The picture was taken through the bird netting, you probably see a blackish blur in the photo
Yukon Gold potatoes getting ready to flower-
Asparagus doing its thing-
Free Ray Praxxus (seeds) Little Gem Lettuce has been delicious, here is another almost ready to be cut
A trellis of beans. From the top of picture going down is one square of Chinese red noodle, next is rattlesnake, bottom two are KY Wonder. There are more pictures but I'm feeling kinda guilty taking up all this space.

Llama...I grew San Marzano last year and loved them...vines were loaded...I made plenty of salsa and loved dicing them up into fresh guacamole.
This year I am trying the typical San Marzano and the San Marzano 'Lungo' from Baker Creek Seeds.

What a nice garden. I had no idea that asparagus grew so tall. I really like it, but never tried to grow any. Do you just find a permanent spot for it?

VJ7...Find a permanent bed for asparagus because it will be there for the next 15-20 years giving you fresh veggies in late spring and early summer.

Re: A few pictures
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I'll be sharing more pictures. Not everything has been succeeding so I'll leave out the pathetic garlic which is atrocious this year compared to last years beauties. My peppers at this point are nothing to look at either.
Yes VJ7, the asparagus needs a permanent place just like quiltbea was saying a couple posts before. And Jimmy cee -- your taters are looking real good. When the potato plants flower, all you do is simply enjoy the fragrance! Seriously, you don't need to do anything. Well, except be on the lookout for potato beetles. I read marigolds help deter them. I put some around the plants hope it works. Last year I battled them daily. They are gross. Anyway, later on the plants will die down then basically its time to harvest.

That's just what I was thinking. Both those things.
Visited a friend's asparagus patch the other day and there were a few spears, but otherwise no vegetation. Different phase of the year for them I guess -- I don't know anything about asparagus.

Can't have too many pictures
Just wait until my feeble brain figures how to post. Unfortunately, I have trouble remembering the instructions from step to step. Maybe I will print them out so I can read as I go. I'm gathering lots of pics for that day.

Re: A few pictures
This is an update from a month ago. This is one bizarre asparagus stem, none of the others have a stem like this-
Dill, potatoes top right, anise hyssop, peppers-
This one blows me away, so far over 5 inches long, an Italian Heirloom-
Last years potato box became this years mostly bean box. The trellis includes, Chinese red noodle, rattlesnake, and Kentucky. There are also a couple wax bush beans, eggplants, borage, daikon radish, and previously pruned-still-agressive ground cherries that want to take over. Everything is fighting for air space, eggplants are very tall with flowers but are hidden in this picture.
Same box, this time picture taken from the right side-- right side of trellis has the triangle pointed leaves of Chinese noodle beans- still can't see the eggplants though- or the square of marigolds either-
One volunteer zucchini and 2 yellow squash battling it out--
Same box, different angle shows volunteer ground cherry being used as a stake for cucumbers outside the box. It was nature's design, not mine - cuke variety is called Bushy, a short Russian vining plant yet it is loaded with babies-
The last one shows my baby blueberry plant, faithfully giving a handful of berries once a week, for now
Thanks for taking a peek, and yes, the lawn needs mowing but the bees are loving it, I've been carefully stepping around them -

Wow, nice llama momma. I love photos like this. I caught myself smiling as I looked at them.
By the way... I can't remember if I commented regarding your garlic harvest. I wanted to say that I was happy you ended up with a decent harvest. Your garlic looked great!

Re: A few pictures
Thanks everyone . Keeping my fingers crossed that things progress without too many problem-type surprises.
Great granny, yes, I do give lots of credit to the llamas for their contribution and worm castings too.
Windmere, that was some nice stuff you said and I appreciate it. Your earth box pictures were terrific and I enjoyed seeing another method being used. My garlic is drying nicely in the basement and I look forward to getting it cured, cutting stems, etc. The anticipation is fun in itself
Best wishes everyone!

LM, Thought of you. The baby was big and I was surprised when he went to nurse and mama just stood there.
