Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
All of a sudden, the arrow becomes invisible when I try to highlight a topic. The carrot no longer appears. Anyone else having this possible forum issue? Or maybe its just my unlucky day with computer gremlins.

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Judy, Thanks a lot. I noticed a different thread called something like Forum performance issues. It suggests opening in another browser or something. Whatever that means. Perhaps someone will help both of us and explain. For now its not easy to get around the forum at all and if I caused it I can't imagine what I've done differently to cause it. Anyone?

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Hi llama momma,
So by highlighting a topic, you're referring to when you move your cursor over a topic title and it turns orange? Like Judy, I don't have a carrot anymore like what used to show up when you'd found a link, but I also don't have the trowel either, just a regular cursor. And mine doesn't disappear when I hover over a link and I can click on a topic and navigate the forum just fine.
Trying a different browser refers to the software you're using to open the website. Many people have Internet Explorer, because that's what comes with a Microsoft computer by default, but there is also Chrome, and Firefox (and others I'm sure). You wouldn't necessarily have another one installed on your computer to use, but since my husband is/was a computer programmer, I have all three.

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Hi Gwennifer, yes you described the problem very well. The problem began right after I started to download the new March avatar thing. I aborted the download then the cursor issue began. I'm thinking it has Revenge built into it too. lol

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Oh dear. Have you tried just closing your browser and re-opening and starting over?
Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
I appreciate your help. I shut down the computer. Still have this issue. Hmm.
But I'm getting pretty good at maneuvering around without the forum cursor. If I hit a topic even blindly it still turns orange and I can continue. It's just a very dopey way to play..

I am having problems with mine also. Before I was posting this comment, the cursor went invisible throughout the screen. While typing this, the cursor would disappear when I would run the cursor over a topic heading and the name where it says Latest Topics. The heading would light up but the cursor disappeared. It would reappear on the blank area.

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
It just gets a little confusing about where I am on the screen but I can still find my way around here, just a little slower, lol.
I also could not get the avatar creating thing to work. I love the creations you guys have come up with!

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Turned on the computer this morning and both the carrot and trowel have returned. I Hope everyone else's problems went away too. Thanks to all for sharing both on this thread and the others. Relieved it wasn't my computers fault after all.

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
I'm back with "the carrot" as well.
Do you think it had something to do with trying the "avator maker" program. BtW, I couldn't get that to work either (using IE)

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Judy, all I can say for sure is I experienced the problem right after I aborted the avatar maker program. At the same time I really can't prove it caused the cursor issue either.

Re: Computer mouse trouble, anyone?
Yesterday I had the same mouse problem and I didn't use the avatar program.
I have other issues like not being able to see photos that are posted and I can't see anything at the top of the screen but that is due to being at work. I think somehow wherever the images are stored for posting my company blocks images from that site but allows access to this site.

Everything back to normal on this forum for me. I could not see photos two days ago but now I can. My trowel and carrot are back, yay! I'm a person again!
