Last couple of times I've turned the pile I've noticed ants running around the bottom. Looks like they have taken up roost down there. Should I worry about them or just keep adding to the pile as normal?

I would keep adding to the pile and turn it more frequently. They will find another place to be.

That is what I did when I had ants in the compost pile.  Just watch that they don't go into your beds.

Keep turning and adding. Also make sure your pile isn't getting too dry.
