Hummingbirds
The news folks say that the ruby throated hummingbirds are on the move from their winter homes, and there may not be food available so, I've cleaned and filled the feeders. A little early but food will be ready here!

Re: Hummingbirds
Last year, my first hummer arrived on April 5th.
From the map llama momma shared, it looks like they may be as much as 10-days earlier this year.
So I'll start putting my feeders out mid-March, right after our last frost date.
Perhaps, we can help the little guys along!

Thanks LM. I really like the map. I will keep the page handy and see exactly when the hummers show up here. 10 days early? Well if they arrived on Mar. 13 last yr, that makes them here by the 3rd. I will try to keep an eye out for them this yr.

Re: Hummingbirds
My first hummers showed up two weeks ago. I still have to clean out my feeders and get them up yet.
We feed over 100 hummingbirds during the summer. We have Rufuos and Ruby Throated Hummers. There are so many that I can stand on a chair 2 feet away and take pictures and feel like I'm standing under a ceiling fan, it's absolutely amazing!

Re: Hummingbirds
I am sure I have seen Rubies in our area even though on the map of Canada I am situated a little way away from the edge.
I must look out for them. I am not really sure which species we get her in the Southern Interior of British Columbia.
