Beekeeping
I am taking a beekeeper course. Anyone on here do bees?

I know quiltbea does, and I would be very interested as well, I am thinking of starting to have bees as well.

I am lucky lol..it also counts for my Education hours for Master Gardener. I am so nervous. Would hate to mess them up. Only have a couple of months to get this down and get over being so nervous. Then the bees come lol..

Hello, my name is Camprn and I am a beekeeper..... a steward of the bees.... ooooooooh I love the smell of honey....... I love to see the girls frolicking, er, I mean working in my garden...

I am not a beekeeper yet lol..just taking a 2 month course. It is something I have always been interested in. I have an aunt with a farm so I believe I can put a couple of hives out there.

I used to run 50 hives , 25 of which were overwintered . Also had 25 neuc boxes used to grow sell instant bee starter swarms on brood box sized frames. I used to sell home grown queens as well .
There is a fantastic book by a guy called Ray Huber or similar.
He's a Canadian and his style of bee keeping is a commercial one so you can bet there is no witchcraft theories or stupid ideas in it. It it all translates well into backyard keeping for a couple of hives.
