Growing Green Tea plants_Camellia Sinesis
Hello All:)
I am new to the SFG Forum world.
Just wanted to check and see if anyone has tried growing green tea plants. I live in 7A(richmond va). I recently found a place that sells root cuttings and wanted to find someone who has been growing them in their garden. It would be a great help to know your experiences.
Thank you!

Green tea and black tea from the same plant. I've never grown it but there is lots of info here;

Re: Growing Green Tea plants_Camellia Sinesis
I haven't read the article linked, but I'm pretty sure that's the Camelia I have in my landscape out front. I haven't bothered with harvesting any parts for tea, but never had any problems growing them. At a previous home I'd have to shear them back at least once a year just so that my sidewalk was passable.
