Canada: July updates
Hello everyone
With the Canada day weekend drawing to a close, time to focus on the garden again.
I dug up a few of my potato plants and really it was a bit too early if I want a large crop of potatoes and so I have vowed to dig no more potatoes for at least a month now.
Our weather has been dreadful and everyone is saying that their entire gardens are weeks behind most years. I have even brought my basil indoors until the weather starts treating them better.
I have many tomatoes on my plants, no immediate signs of wanting to ripen but for now i am going to let them keep growing. My brandy wines last year were about 2 lbs each. I know for sure that this weekend last year we WERE eating ripe heirloom tomatoes.
My peas are doing well, I have about 5 artichokes starting ....
Have had several feeds of garlic scapes, but now I am thinking that soon I will be able to harvest them.
Is anyone else up here having a warm summer
