Is something wrong with my cucs? (pic!)
Newbie here (I think I need to add this to my signature so I don't have to preface every post with it )... so I feel like I've been obsessing over every plant, bug, slug, snail, fly, ant, spot, discoloration, etc... but maybe that's "normal" for a first-time gardener? (if not, maybe I need meds lol). My cucumber babies seem have these yellow spots, and seems "cracked" on it's edges. Is this growing "pains" or a problem? I never seem to find any bugs on them. (notice the white powder on them... that's from the garden dust that I used on my lettuce as I found cutworms and cabbage loopers on them - eeek!!)
Is this something I should be concerned with or should I "let it go"? Thanks so much!!

Has it been really hot and muggy there? I would take off all the old full grown foliage and watch for symptoms of powdery/downy mildew. There are a few threads about mildew. I like to spray the cukes with the baking soda spray, it will help prevent the mildew from taking hold on your plants.

Unfortunately the weather has been very unpredictable... HOT and muggy for a few days (like this past weekend temps in the mid-90's with high humidity) and then all this week is 60's and 70's! Ugh. I will look up baking soda spray and see how to do that...
Which parts of the plant would you call the "old full grown" foliage? Those little leaves on the bottom that first came up? I can take those off?

Yes I mean the older leaves, the ones lower down on the vine.jheriot wrote:camprn wrote:Has it been really hot and muggy there?
