Forgive me if this is not the right area to post this under, but I couldn't find a seedling exchange thread.

I started too many cucumbers, lettuce, and spinach seedlings and didn't get my tomatoes started yet. I'd like to do some trading to save some $$ on buying new sprouts. I really need to get some tomato plants in boxes ASAP. I have so much shade to put up with that I usually don't get to eat anything red until September.

I have:
  • Cucumbers - Boston Pickling and Marketmore (long and straight)
  • Lettuce - Mesclun Gourmet Mix, (which includes Arugula, Green Curled Endive, Red russian Kale, Red Romaine Lettuce, Parris Island Cos Lettuce, Salad Bowl Lettuce, and Lolla Rossa Lettuce, but don't ask me to tell the difference on most of these yet...they're too little!)
  • Spinach - Bloomsdale and Teton Hybrid

They are already in 4 and 6 packs. I'm willing to mix and match.

I would like:
  • Tomatoes - cherry, grape, plum, or especially any early type. These all ripen much faster, so I can actually eat some in the summer.
  • Herbs - basil, cilantro, chives, dill
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberry or Raspberry bushes (I know this is a trade-up, but it doesn't hurt to ask.)

If any of my fellow Central Jerseyans are interested, let me know. I'm willing to travel at least 10-15 exits in any direction. (Not including the Turnpike, LOL!)

Sorry - I don't have any seedlings grown. But Rutgers Day is coming up on the 28th - their master gardener plant sale always has tomato seedlings. That's on Cook/Douglass campus in the "Passion puddle" area.

Last year a friend of mine popped over to the sale and picked me up a Sungold seedling. I got plenty of tomatoes off that in the summer, even though I nearly killed the poor plant early on in the season. Smile
