Hello from Port Orchard, WA
Hi to all!!
I would like to thank SFG for having this site. I am very new to gardening, and look forward to learning how to produce a wonderful bounty here in the NW.
I have dabbled in gardening, but want to make a better go at it this year and believe with SFG I have found the right tools to do just that.

Ahh, Port Orchard
Saw this topic title and had to chime in since it brought back memories. I fell in love with a boy from Port Orchard, Washington when I was in college in Phoenix, Arizona. One Christmas break we made a crazy spontaneous decision to drive to Port Orchard to surprise his folks for Christmas. We drove for 24 hours straight, at one point getting stopped at some snowy mountain pass in California in the middle of the night and having to go back to the nearest gas station and buy chains. We got in Christmas eve and spent the night at his grandparents house and showed up at his folks house Christmas morning. We spent a few days there and I got to explore the little town. Went on the ferry to Bremerton? I think that's right. Anyway, good times. Welcome to the forum Rendi!
And Kats, sounds like you are down here where I am. I remember when the sun popped out just at that time yesterday. One of the things I love about living here is how everyone comes out when the sun is shining (not so much in Phoenix).
Can it be? Two new PNW members! I hope you both stick around. Rendi because we'd love to see you have a great start to your new gardening venture, and Kats because we like to learn from old hands too!
