Spring Sprung in 6b
Crocus and Daffodils are up in 6b
Sap should start rising shortly for those trees which bear seed before leaves.

Re: Spring Sprung in 6b
I went out looking for bulbs last week, here in 6A. Didn't find any. Tonight we are having our first snow "storm". I think it has accumulated about an inch - maybe. But the weathermen are having a field day!

Spring Sprung
We have a tree ring with many different flowers. Problem is, they came up two weeks ago and are in full bloom! So, last Sunday morning, I put a layer of seedling and seed starting cloth over them. It got down to 26 last night but by Thursday the highs will be near 70. I was at Wally Mart when my wife and I discovered they had this stuff for about $3.00 a bag. Same stuff that Gardeners Supply sells. It was enough to cover 125 sq.ft. so I bought 3 bags of it. They had a bunch of them on clearance. Should have bought more but I am cheap if nothing else.
I am itching to go in the garden since I have 26 plants and 6 more in the works in my basement. The weather here has been absolutely bizarre. One big roller coaster. I don't think I will be able to hold off much longer although traditionally, most people don't start planting until after Mother's Day. I am just itching I tell ya!

Yep, it is starting to look alot like Spring here.
My crocuses are up and blooming. The daffodils are coming up. My perenials are getting green. The garlic in my garden are up but will not be ready for awhile.
Apparently I can plant my peas either this weekend or next weekend; last year I planted them too late. I will also plant some lettuce and carrots.

I got crocuses, daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths popping up like crazy here. Right now the only ones that are starting to bloom are the crocuses. Some of the daffodils are not too far behind.
It's awesome

I definitely have hyacinths coming up in my yard. At least, I think they're hyacinths. I can never remember my flower names!
Garlic and shallots have had shoots all winter long. I was going to plant my peas this weekend, but I'm not sure how I'll accomplish that since I now have a torn ACL to go along with the knee I dislocated Sunday. At least if I get down on the ground, all I'll have to do is plant because I followed the book and got the bed ready last Fall!

Moswell, what do you mean you have a torn ACL in addition to the dislocated knee.
We told you to be careful. What in the world have you been up to? You were going to the orthopedist (sp?) Tuesday and now you are injured even more?
Poor thing,
looks like you now need Table Tops so you don't have to get down on the ground at all.
Take care of yourself,

Unfortunately, it's too late for table tops now. I live alone, and my closest family is two hours away, so I don't have anyone to help me get the table tops together. Actually, I don't know how I'm going to mix the extra Mel's Mix I want for the light fixtures I scrounged up last fall (I want to use them for my herbs this year - they're perfect for it).

Moswell,
I am so sorry to hear you tore your ACL. My husband had the surgery done a few years ago. If you need surgery you will also need physical therapy which is very important for recovery. You are young so you will heal quickly. Good luck tom!
