I've had a good session in the gardens today and was really pleased to find lots of self seeded things emerging.
I've got chervil , parsley , lavender & some thing that looks like coriander plus a couple of tomatoes .

What have you guys & gals found in the SFG square that you didn't sow .......  besides weeds?  Laughing

I have about 5 spinach plants left over from last year still going. That seems to be about it. It was a rough winter!

But in my kitchen/overflow garden which is not SFG, I have kale, collards, onion sets that I left in and totally ignored from last year, garlic chives and lemon balm, besides all the regular perennial herbs. I've been able to make green smoothies for the past two days from that garden!

Tons of Roma tomato volunteers just peeking out and cantaloupe volunteers as well.  There are also some Potatoes that I planted when harvesting last year - there were some really tiny ones that I just tucked right back in the ground and left them where they were to see what would happen.

They're not in SFG beds, but my lemon thyme, oregano, peppermint, & chocolate mint all survived sitting on the deck railing.

Plantoid - are you okay?

tomatoes (or marigolds - need more leaves to tell) and basil.  I ran out of sungold cherry seeds planting in the Philippines and decided not to try starting seeds this year because of getting started late.  But when stirring up a bed on Wed, I found a whole sungold skin with seeds inside just sprouting.  Put them into some cups of MM and put on the heat mat and I've got sprouts today.

My rosemary, parsley, oregano, chives, and peppermint are putting up new growth.

And the portulaca is like a red carpet in the deck containers.

oddly enough , not sure if I would call it seeding itself.... but found a garlic today that had planted itself. it was a whole head that I must have left out in the beds while I was planting last fall, has now send up a sprout for each clove..
Also a few peas have seeded self.a....and potatoes

I have marigold seeds growing anywhere they can in the rock outside my beds, a couple even to the point of flowering!

I've found a stray tomato seedling here and there.

My lemon basil apparently littered the rock with seeds...they mixed in with the tiny marigolds.

And then of course, my one sunflower plant from last year apparently threw seeds EVERYWHERE.

Oh, and palm tree seedlings.  LOL, stupid things.

Most of my herbs survived the winter, despite that we got into the teens several times this winter on the Texas Gulf Coast.  I am also DELIGHTED to see that 5 of my Texas Wild tomato plants have reseeded themselves.  I've already planted other plants there, but I'm not pulling them up.  I love these and the more the merrier.  I have beans I planted last year that didn't make that are also coming up.  I don't have a clue as to why now?

Chives, wild mint (trying to eradicate!), a few onions I left in the ground, some irises poking up sword tips.  Still a little cold and early to find tomato sprouts, but hoping.

Oh, and lots of Egyptian Walking Onions poking up!
