I live on the Middle Peninsula of Virginia. I am new to this forum, but it is our fifth year square foot gardening. We have six 4 x 4 boxes that we redid this year. We have peas, spinach, lettuce, and onions planted to far. Next month we will put in tomatoes, cucumbers and green beans.

Hoo-Ray. Now there are at least 4 of us SFG'ers on the Middle Peninsula. I'm in Middlesex County and Patty is in Yorktown and Jennie is in Gloucester.

Jennie is brand new this year and Patty is in her 6th year. I'm in my 2nd year and a Moderator of this foru
m. Please be sure to post often as we need all the experienced folks that we can to help the many new gardeners around the world.

Tell us about your garden and be sure to post some pictures. Folks on the forum love to look at what other gardeners have done. Where do you purchase your vermiculite? Vermiculite is a hot topic on the forum as not all places carry the big bags.

Again a hearty welcome to the SFG Forum.

God Bless, Ward.

Glad to know there are other square foot gardeners nearby. I am in Gloucester also. I previously bought vermiculite at Ace Hardware in Grafton. This year I found it here in Gloucester at Southern States. It was around $23 which is more than I paid before, but worth it not to travel across the river.

granmum:

I picked up two bags of vermiculite at Green Planters Nursery at Gloucester Point for $19.00 per bag two weeks ago. Real nice folks.

BTW I work in the Lowe's tool department and will be in on Wendesday from 6 AM to 3 PM. Jannie also works there as a cashier. Stop by and say HI.

God Bless, Ward and Mary.
