Tomato Set Spray Empty Tomato Set Spray

Post  braim5 8/24/2011, 9:34 pm

Hello! I'm new to the forum and SFG. I currently have an "ol' fashioned" garden that is finishing up from the summer and 2 raised beds (4x4 and 2x12) that I have started as Square Foot Gardens for Fall.

I am curious if anyone uses Tomato Blossom Set Spray. I have had the worse time with my tomatoes this year with the extreme monsoon that we experienced this past Spring and the scorching heat/dry weather we suffered through this summer. I've been fighting Early Blight as well as all of my blossoms dropping off. I found some of the Blossom Set Spray that I had bought a few years ago and thought I'd try it since it was looking pretty bleak for any further tomato activity out of my plants. Since spraying the existing blossoms, as well as applying a healthy dose of compost to each plant, they seem to be doing much better. I actually have small fruits that are forming. I haven't seen any new fruit since probably the end of June.

I looked up the active ingredient in the Blossom Set Spray and it is Kinetin, which is a natural plant hormone, so it would seem that it is still an organic product. I would love to hear any additional feedback (good or bad).

Thanks!
