Hello!

I am super excited to start SFG. We moved into our first house in May and I was eager to have a garden. I didn't know what I was doing and got a pretty late start. I have 5 tomato plants (3 cherry, 2 grape) and 3 bell pepper plants. For a first garden, I was pretty psyched!

I was so happy that I began to think of expansion for next year. I looked online and got books from the library looking for plans, designs and advice. I started getting really frustrated until... I got All New Square Foot Gardening. What a relief! I am only 1/3 of the way through the book but I already feel less stressed about the future garden.

I don't have solid plans yet because I haven't finished reading the book but I did start a design. The area I have is 18 ft by 21 ft.

I was going to post a picture of the design I made, but I guess I can't post for 7 days?

So very glad you found the book. You are absolutely right. This is an easy and simple method of gardening. Much less work, much less room and so few weeds, it makes gardening enjoyable instead of a chore.

You certainly are welcome to post pictures right away, I am not aware of any restrictions for new members. Here are instructions for how to post pictures that are stored on your computer >>HOW TO

Hope you will keep us posted on your progress.

Again, Welcome and we are glad you are here with us.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. You're going to love gardening the SFG way.

OK then, about the posting thing...you're a winner! You're the first person to get screwed by the new spam controls that have been installed! (I'm just having some fun)

Here's what's going on: We recently had some anti-spam software installed that prevents a new member from posting links to external websites for 7 days. That is intended to take the wind out of the sails of anyone looking to join and post for their own self-serving benefits. Unfortunately, honest folks like yourself are inconvenienced for a week. You are the first one to say anything about it. If your plan is an image file, I'm pretty sure you can post that by following
these instructions. If your images are on another site, you can email me the links, and I'll post them for you. (use the email icon under my avatar). This is the first time we're trying this, so let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Again, welcome to the forum, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Welcome aboard to another Midwesterner! Good to have you.

That book was an eye-opener for me, too. It made me feel very confident that I could grow what I wanted, when I wanted, HOW I wanted in limited space with limited time committments. What a relief!

Read the whole thing through and start asking questions. People here are very eager to help. This forum is an outstanding compliment to the book.

Share your designs and brag about your successes. We welcome that here. I look forward to seeing more of you.
