Just became what my kids call "psycho yard guy" over the past couple of years...I'm guessing for stress relief. Ran across this book at Lowe's and I'm fascinated. With a shady, west-facing back yard, I have very limited space for a garden without getting the home owner's assoc knickers in a wad when I string up tomatoes in my front yard. I have a small patch on the south-side wall of my house that is hidden from street view but sunny most of the day until late afternoon that I hope will be perfect for two 2' x' 6' beds. ...can't wait to get started!

Welcome to the forum! Razz to those nasty old HOA's! SFG's are so easy to dress up they may not even bat an eye. Keep us updated on the progress!

Welcome Daryl.Weaver

It is always nice to have new members. We look forward to seeing what "psycho yard guy" can do with his new SFG. It is great that you already have the ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book. You will find that it can lead through a great method of gardening. The forum is a great back-up, we can help when those questions come up. There are lots of members who will try their best to help you out when they can.

SFG is great for those with limited garden space. We have other members that use the south facing wall as their location for sun loving plants like tomatoes. 2 X 6 beds are great to place along the wall, as it would be difficult (read impossible) to get at things in the back if your bed were a full 4 ft wide.

There is a thread that is really good for new SFGrs, as it helps you create the best Mel's Mix ever. Check it out CLICK HERE FOR MELS MIX

Again, Welcome, and keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome! that sunny wall will be great for summer plants... you could try a shadier spot for cooler season plants during the summer... I am trying that this year
