I LOVE August! Got me some deals!
We have just under 13 weeks left before expected first fall frost, and all MANNER of things are going on sale! I got a BIG old bag of coarse vermiculite at half price, free vegetable and leggy, old herb starts that were full of ripe seeds for the saving at the local landscaper shop. The big Lowe's down the street had a floor model of a raised bed they sold me for 1/3 the ticket price and my health food store had Botanical Interests seed packets for fifty cents each! I can't believe I actually found a packet of Moon and Stars watermelon, something I was planning to grow anyway and now have CHEAP seeds!!
