Today I harvested some Swiss Chard from my garden and cooked it using a recipe I found online. It was delicious. I've never had Swiss Chard before today. I grew it because it was healthy and easy to grow. But beyond it tasting delicious, it was such a Joy to harvest, cook and eat something I had grown.

I love chard fresh, but it also freezes very well.

It's so easy to find Lavender Debs and thanks! I have 4 plants now, but will probably plant a couple more for the fall, after the Edamame is done.

Pick it, wash it, fold the leaf in half, one slice out comes the stem, slice into ribbons, blanch for 2-3 minutes, into ice water bath until cool, squeeze & drain, place in freezer bag then into the freezer. I did blanch the chopped stems separately to use in soups during the winter. A pound of fresh make about 1 quart of frozen leaf.
