What Can I Plant Now?

I will be pulling out plants in a few squares which will leave them ready for another plant.

What suggestions for either direct sowing or transfers that are readily available. I have plenty of herbs,
tomatoes, tomatillos, squash, cukes, melons, radishes, and carrots. I prefer veggies, but will consider flowers.

Bush beans and Swiss Chard are good additions. Those will both be shorter term plants if you desire and not encroach on your fall plans.

However, I am not shy about planting carrots or leaf lettuces during the hot seasons, either. My favorite "slow bolting" lettuce is Simpson Elite. I literally swear by it. I have never had a problem getting multiple harvests from a single plant before it starts to get a little tired looking.

Those are excellent suggestions! I think I have some seeds for the beans and chard. I have four Black Seeded Simpson lettuce. It is still going strong!

I replanted bush bean today because the deer came and ate all my bean plants. I believe we'll get a crop in before it gets cold.
