squash and peppers
So, our sugar snap and snow peas are almost done. The last of the lettuce and spinach just harvested. I will update my pics in a bit :-)
I have 4 beds (2x4 size) and 2 have the vertical frame supports which have been great for my peas.
I put my frame supports in the middle of the bed so that things could grow on either side of support, but we definitely got more snow peas vs sugar snaps (sugar snaps were in the back which is against the fence so I am thinking they did not get as much sun).
My questions: do you have to have the vertical supports for squash? Or can the vines just trail away from the beds (I have room for this. Or should I invest in a few more supports?
Should I move my existing supports to the back of the raised beds and plants smaller plants in the front part and the vine plants in the back?
What are some good small/low plants for summer in NC?
I am really excited about my first summer of square foot gardening...we started last fall :-)
