Chat Box

I notice on the front Forum page that there is a chat box. Is this used at any specific times. :?:

Feel free to use the chat box whenever you'd like. You have to click the 'log in' button but nothing else is necessary. Be forewarned, the idle time out is short, and there is nothing we can do about it.

If you wish, you may make a post inviting others to join you for a chat at a particular date and time. Having a topic that you would like to discuss is a bonus. So far, chats have occurred at times more convenient for those of us in North America. It would be interesting to see who showed up at a time more convenient for Europeans and/or Australians/New Zelanders. Have fun!

The chat box at the bottom of the index page does not have audio, and most folks don't think to pay attention to it. There is a second chat box option. The link is at the bottom of the Latest Topics list. It is an external add-on. The advantage is that it makes noise when someone is active on it. If you feel like chatting, you can log in, then go about your other business on your computer. If someone else logs in, you will hear it.
