Garden photos
Those are great photos, Jane. We had our first killing freeze on Friday night. It got my tomatoes and okra, but the greens, broccoli, arugula, radishes, turnips, carrots, and celery root are still going strong. I potted up some cilantro, marjoram, parsley, rosemary, and biergarten sage on Thursday and moved them indoors.
I covered up my broccoli to get it through the freeze, and the nickel-sized buds seem to be fine. How much longer will it take before they reach eating size?
This is a photo of my last kohlrabi. I never picked it because it got a large woody stem instead of swelling the green bulb as it should have. When the fall temps turned cool, a bulb started swelling above that woody part of stem so I let it go to see what would happen. It's now the largest kohlrabi I raised all summer. (Again I say, this has been a really strange garden year.)
