Just found a Praying Mantis in my garden. It was chopping on a striped cucumber beetle. Hopefully the Mantis will clean my garden up for me.

Happy Gardening...

Good Insect in Garden Empty Happy, happy

Post  ander217 7/17/2010, 8:32 pm

Happy, happy, for you!

The good bugs seem to have been delayed in getting to my garden this year. The ladybugs finally showed up and are now munching on the aphids, and some type of flittery-looking blue-black wasp thing with orange on its back has come to my corn patch. Not sure what bugs they're eating but there's a huge buffet there for them to try. (I hope they don't eat ladybugs!)

We had a huge hatch of dragonflies this year, just in time to snap up the mosquitoes that hatched after the rains began.

(Does anyone remember hearing dragonflies called Snake Doctors? That's all I ever heard them called when I was growing up.)
