My July Garden

My wife Ruth is a US citizen and we had a nice roast dinner today to celebrate.
All the veg's out of our winter garden, which was pleasing.
It has been a cold winter so far with temps down to O C at night for about the last 2 weeks. 10 to 14 during the day.
I have really nice broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, silver beet, spinach, spring onions, sweet potatoes, raddish, green tomatoes, red beet and broad beans with flowers.
We made some green tomato pickles tonight.
July is the time to prune the roses and fruit trees which is now completed.
I hope other sfg's can report on their garden progress.

Re: My July Garden
Thank you!
I am stunned that your plants are growing at such cold temperatures...especially the tomatoes!

Tomatoes and winter.

Yes - don't know what's going on there.
Mine tend to give up by May, or earlier. Though they haven't been good crop for a couple of years. Last year they had a bad spot - ground not that good, and too much shade. The year before we had black saturday (47 C at my place). Only one plant had a decent crop by then.
Well, I'll see this year I have about 10 plants - even after giving a few seedlings away. A bit too much usually - and next year no more stakes.
I got the SFG book for Christmas, so might be able to get a square or two for winter crop, if not by spring.

Re: My July Garden
I'm shock by the sudden development on your garden. Even though it's a bit cold for this season, You still manage to cultivate your garden in a nick of time.
