Seedlings Sticker Shock
Dropped by Rural King to pick up some garden molasses, which they no longer sell, and stopped to look at the vegetable seedlings they had to sell. I was not prepared for the sticker shock! The 3" pots of all of the vegetables were $5.78, the 5" were $7.98, and the 8" pots were $15.98. Sure makes me glad that I started all of my plants from seeds!

I bought some 6-pack flowers and sugar baby watermelons for $4.99 and $5.44, and 4" pots of herbs and cantaloupe at $3.99-6.44.
Sticker shock when one is used to starting most of the plants from seed.

So true! When you buy a packet of 100 - 200 seeds for around $3.00, seeing single seedlings sell for $5.00 is a shock.

Re: Seedlings Sticker Shock
Is it just regular inflation? Or what? That’s nuts….

Re: Seedlings Sticker Shock
I'm sure it's a combo of inflation on materials and rise in labor costs.
