Bumblebee or ?
For two afternoons now this critter has come zooming around my pear tomato non-stop. It's about the size, color and shape of a large flying cheetoh. The perspective here makes it look huge, but it's actually about 1/2 to 1 inch in length. It might be a bumblebee, but it doesn't seem to be visiting flowers. Hard to get a photo because it's kind of scary and it doesn't stop moving. Seems to be looking for something. A nesting site? Insects to eat? What?

P.S. "The Flying Cheetohs" would be a great name for a rock and roll band.

Re: Bumblebee or ?
Unfortunately, I could not see it clear enough to identify it. I do have a lot of Bumblebees and Carpenter Bees visiting my Tomatoes though to get pollen to store in their nests. So, it could have been a Bumblebee.
I don't have any pictures of Bumblebees on the tomatoes, but here is one on a Milkweed bloom. You can see the pollen packed onto its legs![Bumblebee or ? Bumble10](https://i.servimg.com/u/f47/19/95/27/69/bumble10.jpg)

I'll have to check carefully. Maybe there's a nest in my tomato pear tree.sanderson wrote:
