Welcome neighbor
I just joined today. Would love to know what you have that’s grown well and what not to try. I’m new to gardening and not very knowledgeable.

Can't say for sure what will work well in a Square Foot Garden but mine is coming along pretty well..
I do have a regular row garden and this will be my last year with that. Down to two 50' rows and will grass that area in and add 3 more square foot gardens.
Better Boy tomatoes have always been my main standby.Never fails to bring a good crop. Not a meaty as some tomatoes but taste is very good.
As to smaller tomatoes we like the Grape tomatoes. Very prolific growing and producing.
We like squash so will plant straight neck or crook neck squash. I'm going to put one in my SFG and have it climb up a pole or trellis. Saw how to do that on youtube.
Most any beans have done well in the past. Blue lake snap beans, fordhook lima beans, pinkeye purple hull peas. Really most any bean have done will in my garden.
Here is what I have going now...
Got garlic, onions, leaf lettuce, arugula, beets, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, and put a couple of tomatoes in today. Except for the tomatoes, beans, and peas none of these plants have done well in my regular row garden but looking good so far.
Anyway I can help just let me know. PM's work well also.
I'm still reading through many of the threads and still got a long way to go..

J777, Welcome to the Forum from CA. To get the most out of the SFG Forum, start with the book, either the 2nd or 3rd Edition of ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening. It's a fast read with good photos. AFter that, we are here to help.
On the left edge of the Home page are 7 hidden topics that pop out. The first one on compost is one I recommend right off the bat. https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t7451-mel-s-mix-how-strong-is-your-backbone
