First Tomato 2021
Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I picked my FIRST tomato today. I've warned my wife and my grandson, "This is MY tomato. Don't look at it, don't touch it, don't ask for a slice of it and don't even THINK about having a BLT. I planted this s.o.b 3 months ago and have mulched it, watered it. suckered it and nurtured it for 3 months".
I'm going to put this beauty on a cheap paper plate with some fresh cut basil, maybe a splash of vinegar, salt and a dash of pepper and devour that s.o.b ALL by myself. ANYONE who tries to take some it remember. ...... I HAVE A SHARP KNIFE IN MY HAND. Now back OFF. It's MY Tomoto.

My Sun Gold cherry tomatoes are just beginning to ripen, and I can't wait for the first one! It won't make it to the house!

Are they similar to yellow pear tomatoes?
These were grown from cuttings from last year's tomatoes so had a head start. Alas, the vines all become brown on the lower part so this will be almost the total harvest.

Similar, but they are cherry-type tomatoes. They turn a beautiful goldish orange when ripe, and they are like eating candy. "Can't eat just one..."
The one in the middle of this picture is fully ripe.

I must have not been listening closely. I was sure someone told me "Gardening is good therapy", not "Gardeners need good therapists"MrBooker wrote:I HAVE A SHARP KNIFE IN MY HAND. Now back OFF. It's MY Tomoto.

Re: First Tomato 2021
Never get between a gardener and their first ripe tomato. Never ever.
Mark, Sun Gold are delicious. More so than yellow pear. Need seeds?
