Hello from a traveling gardener
Hi, I joined back in April and have been busy planning howto make a traveling garden on the back of our 5th. wheel rv. This will be a new experience and I am sure a lot of learning, not sure how things will grow.We are in N. Florida right now and will head up the East coast all the way to Maine and across to Minnesota before summer/fall is over. So anxious to learn about all the growing seasonsand try my hand at this.

Well how much fun will that be?! You'll be able to out run the squash bugs!
Happy traveling gardening
Good thing, because moving from climate to climate, your plants might not know what they're supposed to be doing! You are the first member, that I can remember, to post about a traveling sfg. Please posts pics of your set-up and keep us up-to-date on your progress-this sounds like funSo anxious to learn about all the growing seasons
Happy traveling gardening
Re: Hello from a traveling gardener
Hayjude! Welcome to traveling with your SFG!!!! We are motorhomers and I've been trying to figure out how to do that! I'm sooooo glad you are on the forum. We could become VERY GOOD BUDDIES before this is all over.
We are currently stationary in Cleveland but normally travel many weeks in spring. Spring of all times! How can you start a garden when you're gone April May June! I will be following this post to see what you figure out. We have one small box on wheels. Maybe we could make it our toad!
Will you be going to the Gypsy Gathering in Elkhart at the end of August? If so, we'll see you there.

Howdy:
You may be starting a new "movement" in Square Foot Gardening. If enough folks become part of the movement there could be a SFG Gypsey Gardening Gathering.
God Bless, Ward and Mary.

I can see it now... "Hay Fellow Gardener" I will be parking in your driveway on June the upteenth for 3 days so we can talk gardening and I can visit your garden and put my squares in your yard so they can get a few days of sun...
BTW: If you want to stop in on your way north let us know.
God Bless, Ward and Mary.

Re: Hello from a traveling gardener
Just don't come to California because they will make you throw all of it out. No fresh agriculture product comes over the border. Pest protection.
Re: Hello from a traveling gardener
Oooo! That would be a problem! Could I hide it under my flip-top bed? They would never think of looking there. hahaha Couldn't even lift the SFG to get it in there! And yes, they probably would think of looking there!
Maybe I could let the aggies baby-sit it and eat while we're in CA then pick it up again on our way out! As if we're ever going to figure out how to travel with the darn thing. That's why we're home this spring instead of cruzin!
We've been through those checkpoints. CA is taking care of itself! Good for CA!
