RS Gardener in Minnesota
I spent the evening turning soil and mixing in this year's compost additions. We're a few weeks away from being able to plant here, but I'm chomping at the bit and have already completed all the maintenance I had planned for the spring.
The compost had another good year and I got many wheel barrows full for the garden.
I also sharpened all my tools - shovels, the hoes, etc. Like I said, I can't wait!

Welcome from Ohio, Russel! I moved your post to your own thread so you can easily follow replies and comments. It is great to see that you have all the compost you need, and are ready for the spring planting season to begin. Sharpening tools is something many of us forget to do, and have to work twice as hard because of the dull edges. LOL

RS, Welcome to the Forum from California! We love photos so feel free to show us your prepped beds. Some folks can only dream of working on their beds.
Re: RS Gardener in Minnesota
(First time posting images here, let's see how it goes!...)
Here's my four beds. ~180 sq. ft or so. The two smaller beds in the back were my first forays into SFG in 2014. I added the middle a couple of years after that and the one in the foreground was last years' addition.
(There's a few raspberries and some nascent rhubarb on top of that terraced patch waaaay back there.)
Here's my old beagle sunning himself while I worked this weekend.
I grow a lot of tomatoes, potatoes, and squash. Last year was a great year for kale and lettuce greens - dunno why.
I've got two compost piles which are rotated into use annually - one gets added to while the other spends a year compostin' and getting turned now and then.
I do most of my garden work early in the AM before leaving for work.
SFG has been super successful for me and I'm a big proponent! I tried for years to get a garden going but it almost always ended in frustration and weeds. I don't recall where I heard of SFG but I recall reading about it and it 'clicked' almost immediately. I built my first beds that year and haven't looked back.
All the best to everyone!

Oh, man, you need to build that great old beagle his own bed. Seriously, it looks like he loves it, being up in a clean bed. 2' x 3', 3'x3' ??
