Re: TD - A Journey Through Prostate Cancer
My painting is actually based on a photo I took of the rock on a foggy day. I framed it in the camera so that the foreground had the trees and bushes. Here is the photo from 2003 followed by my ugly painting.donnainzone5 wrote:The foggy look and foreground, in my opinion, are enhancements. But then again, I had only a two-week course in art history as a senior in high school. That was part of a class called "World History and Philosophy." Among other things, we learned to make "apple" pies with soda crackers. We also read Shakespeare. I still revere that teacher!

Good Heavens, TD. I can see carpet. For some reason my carpets are almost invisible
in my second bedroom.
Glad you are really looking after yourself. Body, mind and spirit.

With all this "sheltering in place" going on, I think you ought to consider trading those weights for a couple of Molsons , and maybe find a sexier looking therapist to Skype with....got to put a little fun in isolation.

Re: TD - A Journey Through Prostate Cancer
Got my third three month hormone therapy injection today. I went into the clinic wearing my N95 mask and my latex gloves (in bright blue ). The nurses at the clinic were wearing their PPEs. I took my own temperature and blood pressure at home so the nurse did not have to do it at the clinic. When I got home all of my clothes went into the washer and I went into the shower.

Re: TD - A Journey Through Prostate Cancer
After my Androgen Deprivation Therapy injection yesterday I relaxed with some art. This one is an experiment in mixed media. It's a cotton swab painting. I used watercolours applied with a flat brush for the background and tree trunks. Then I added the leaves with cotton swabs dipped in thicker acrylic paints. The figure was done in watercolour with a small round brush. It was an interesting experiment.

You're turning into a Grandpa Moses, TD! I love lighthouses. We have driven the great lake coastlines of Michigan and Wisconsin visiting and photographing the lighthouses.

Re: TD - A Journey Through Prostate Cancer
Well dear friends it's time for my six-month prostate cancer follow-up with my radiation oncologist. I'm praying for good news. The appointment will be via telephone on Friday afternoon. Last week I went to a clinic for the blood test that is required for the appointment. I'm not feeling all that great right now ... tired, lots of aches/pains, and I feel some cognitive issues. Nevertheless I rest in the will of my Lord. As well I am still painting and puttering around in the garden.
I hope all of your gardens are doing well. My SFG is partially planted. We have had schizophrenic weather. One day in May we set a record cold for that day and the on another day we set a record high. We went up to 34C (93F) and two days later the overnight temp was 4C (39F).
