do you know the name of this plant? Sorrel?
I have this plant growing in my front flower bed, but can't recall it's name. can anyone help?

It looks a bit like a red ribbed sorrel. Did you plant it there?

yes I did, but it was last fall I think. it went thru the winter, but I can't remember its name. sorrel sounds right. I'm going to look that up.

thanks camprn, that link was helpful. I believe that what I have. This response from carrie from the above link help me to use it as an ornament.
I too, have this in my garden .I bought it because the leaves were so pretty.I thought I could use it to decorate /garnish a salad or something but you’re right ..the leaves are way too bitter to use on their own .Its about the only thing that came through my winter still growing so guess it must be quite tough.I was all geared up to eat it but as I read its rich in oxalic acid & mustn’t be consumed in large quantities it kind of took the edge off my appetite with it !I value my kidneys too much!

The small new leaves are much less bitter.
