Quite a resemblance don't you think ?
This frame did very nicely this year, however, not having time to place bug protection, they took everything but carrots.
This year was only experimentation anyway.
Soon I am going to close it up and keep check on soil & enclosure temps.
Considering starting some direct seeding in late winter.

I'm considering using 2 large crock pots (slow cookers) with no lids.
I tried it last spring in my seed tray, the water on a hi setting with no lid rises to 140 degrees F.
With covers on in cold weather this should do nicely (I'm hoping) ....more experimenting
An electrical outlet is close by, with the necessary outside fixtures this should prove interesting

Thanks for the reminder on the crock pot, I may give that a try on the coldest nights in my greenhouse. I'm going to have space blankets as night covers inside the greenhouse for a double covering. A crock pot should give off more than enough heat with the space blankets.

I'll try my Christmas lights first and see how they do with the space blankets. We don't get down below the mid-20s so protection shouldn't be too hard.

Jimmy is it in fact a hot bed? or a cold frame? I like the design.

Tis a cold frame, however it may be used any way we want.... Hot Bed 3170584802

By the way, I remarked before about using the crock pots with the lid on in cold weather !..
No lids on... I want that heat & humidity out there in the internal area of the cold frame....
I'm gonna give it a try anyway this winter just to see how it's gonna work.

Of course thats if I can get my lazy outside.....I love to be outside, however I hate freezing weather and despise
the hot 95 +
