question about potatoes
Ok so I am growing potatoes in buckets, but I forgot to refill the soil over the tops and now the plants are about 8 inches tall! Can i still add soil and if so, how much? Should I cut back the plants first?
Thanks in advance!

Hilling Potatoes
I did that with mine and just covered them about half way each time. I only filled in about twice and then added pine straw.

Re: question about potatoes
+1 to VJ72584's comment( I agree).
Some but not all taters will keep adding tubers(little taters) all the way up to the surface as you add dirt; hilling; others just produce tubers just above the 'seed slice'.
In either case you must protect the growing tubers from sun exposure or the skin will turn green an ruin that tuber for eating.
