Re: Newbie in Las Vegas, year 1!
How did those radishes turn out, sanderson? So many years ago...sanderson wrote:The French Breakfast radishes are doing great tucked in the cool shade of 2 sprawling Roma and San Marzano. I've eaten 3 in the garden. This is the first time that I have grown edible radishes. Thanks to you, Brainchasm
I think my sunflower plant can take me in a fair fight...it's taller than me, and it keeps giving me dirty looks.

I can't remember how that batch of radishes turned out but a year ago they did great! I added one a day for juicing and they spiced things up just right. The ones seeded early this October are doing great.
Should we change this thread to year 2? Or Brainchasm in Las Vegas?

Most things have sprouted, still waiting on garlic, onions, and lettuces.sanderson wrote:How are your plants and seedling doing, now?
Radishes are trucking along, but I'm going to have to put the plastic on the hoops tonight (freeze warning).

Everything seems to have done fine. I'm not convinced it even frosted by me.sanderson wrote:How did the seedlings survive?
My garlic still hasn't shown any signs of life, and my onions haven't either.
I'm admittedly working with old seed, but if that's the problem, it sure is unfortunate as to which things decided to not sprout.

Re: Newbie in Las Vegas, year 1!
This year I was so behind due to the heat that I bought seedlings from HD and a nursery. I feel like I cheated. The only seeds I planted were carrots, radishes, toy bok choy and peas.
Regarding old seeds, after 6 years of year around gardening, I have started replacing old seeds.
