I'm worried about a few of my plants and was wondering if someone could help me figure out what I did wrong and what I can do to save them!!!

1. Basil. I bought these plants from a nursery and kept them inside my house for a few weeks until it was warm enough outside. I proceeded to plant them outside and it totally slipped my mind that I needed to harden them off. Is that why the leaves are turning tan? Can I save the plants somehow???

2. Parsley and Spinach. I got these plants from a nursery and planted them directly outside. Parts of the leaves are brown and the plants just don't seem to be growing. Ideas?

I don't know where you are located, so am limited on the help I can give. Basil is a warm weather plant and does not do well if nights get below 55. Yours may well be in shock, so what I'd do is pinch the tops off (looks like they are trying to bloom to me), water them well, and cover them anytime night-times temps dip into the 50's. Pinching them will encourage new growth.
As to parsley and spinach, I really have no idea except your mix looks dry to me. Are you watering them enough? Mel's mix dries out rather quickly (I'm finding out). Stick your finger two inches into the mix and see how moist it is. If it is dry that far down, then water more often. Except in the past three days when we've had 4" of rain, I've had to water every day.

Your basil looks shocked AND like it's attempting to bolt. I've not had much luck stopping the bolting process. Maybe be very aggressive in the "pinch" back, like don't just pinch the tops, but maybe the first 1/4 or 1/3 of the plant, and make sure that they don't get dry, but be careful to not over water. The parsley? It's not looking good. They may all just be really shocked. What about misting them and covering with like a milk jug with the bottom cut off...a little plant spa for a couple days to see if heat and moisture will make them comfortable.

Were any of the plants root-bound? I've found that most nursery or big-box store plants are.

anytime i do any tansplanting be it from a store bought stock or something ive grown from seed indoors i always try to trimm the roots a smidge and tease them apart with an old fork this has worked out well for me in the past as it gives the roots more room to grow instead of being bound up in a small ball
